A career  memorable moment Fred recalls vividly occurred during his first semester at ISU.  The wrestling coach was tragically killed in an accident and the university was  faced with the decision of whether to drop the wrestling program. This was a  very historic time in ISU history as it was the height  of the Vietnam War. When the decision was made not to drop wrestling  but to continue the vision of developing the sport, it was evident that ISU was  blessed with strong and ethical leaders like President William E. "Bud" Davis, Athletic Directors Milton (Dubby) Holt, and  Italo I.J. "Babe" Caccia. What these individuals taught studnet-athletes was commitment to a vision and a sense of responsibilty toward others. This was Idaho State Universidy during 1964-1968.
